Why work with Elizabeth
Public law expertise, applied to the realities of schools and the voluntary sector
Schools, multi-academy trusts and children's sector NGOs carry significant safeguarding, legal and ethical responsibilities. When those responsibilities are tested — by a complex safeguarding case, an Ofsted inspection, a SEND tribunal, a family in crisis, or a challenge to a decision made under pressure — the quality of the advice and training your organisation has received becomes visible in a very direct way.
Elizabeth Okinda is a senior public law solicitor with more than a decade of experience advising on safeguarding, children's rights, SEND, human rights and education law. She has worked at the point where statutory decisions are made, challenged and litigated. Every piece of work she takes on is handled personally.
Engagement is flexible. Whether you need a one-off strategic session for your leadership team, a training day for your DSL team, a policy review, or ongoing support across a specific project or programme, the practice works around your organisation's structure, timetable and budget.
01
Personally delivered
Every training session, advisory note and consultancy session is delivered by Elizabeth. You are not passed to a team or a junior trainer.
02
Grounded in real casework
The training and advice Elizabeth delivers is built on actual litigation experience. Your DSLs and leaders learn what goes wrong when decisions are challenged, not just what the guidance says.
03
Ofsted and audit ready
Elizabeth understands the safeguarding frameworks that inspectors and auditors scrutinise. Her support helps your organisation demonstrate not just compliance, but genuine understanding of risk and duty.
04
Flexible engagement
One-off advice, a training commission, a policy review or an ongoing consultancy arrangement: the practice adapts to how your organisation actually works, not the other way around.

- —Support in responding to scrutiny: Ofsted preparation, safeguarding audits, external reviews and governance-level risk assessments.
How engagement usually works
Starting points, scoping and how the practice works with you
Most instructions from schools, MATs and NGOs begin in one of three ways: a specific complex case or safeguarding situation that requires senior input, a training need identified by a DSL, headteacher or CEO, or a policy or programme review prompted by an inspection, audit or organisational change.
Elizabeth works with your existing safeguarding, legal and leadership structures rather than replacing them. The practice is designed to provide the senior specialist input that most schools and NGOs do not have in-house.
01
Make an enquiry
Submit a short enquiry via the website describing the matter, training need or project. Elizabeth responds personally within two working days to discuss whether and how the practice can help.
02
Scope and agree
A brief scoping conversation establishes the nature of the work, the format that fits your organisation, and the fee structure: project fee, day rate or training commission. Nothing starts without a clear written agreement.
03
Receive the work
All advice, training and consultancy is delivered personally by Elizabeth, working collaboratively with your DSL, leadership team or board. Timescales and formats are agreed at scoping and kept to.
