Strategic advice on Children Act 1989 duties and safeguarding frameworks, delivered personally by Elizabeth Okinda to local authorities, schools, charities and instructed firms.
In Scope
- —Strategic advice on Children Act 1989 sections 17, 20, 47 and Schedule 2 duties.
- —Threshold and risk analysis support in complex safeguarding cases.
- —Section 20 accommodation advisory work — consent, process and litigation risk.
- —Protocol and policy development for local authority safeguarding teams.
- —Quality assurance review of statutory assessments and decision letters.
- —Training on safeguarding law for social work and legal teams.
Out of Scope
- —Conduct of care proceedings or other Children Act litigation as solicitor on the record.
- —Acting in any matter where a conflict of interest arises from the practice's concurrent local authority work.
