Fees &
Engagement
The practice offers three fee structures, selected to reflect the nature and scope of each instruction. Proposed fees are set out in the engagement letter issued at the start of each retainer. The practice does not compete on price; it competes on depth of expertise and the quality of the work.
FIXED FEE
Appropriate for defined, bounded pieces of work — an advisory note, a Pre-Action Protocol response, a quality assurance review of a specific document, or a single training session. The scope and deliverable are agreed in writing before work commences.
SUITABLE FOR: Advisory notes, Pre-Action Protocol responses, QA reviews, single training sessions
DAY RATE
Appropriate for consultancy engagement over a defined period — for example, a governance review, a multi-day training programme, or sustained strategic support on a live matter. Rate and projected days are agreed in the engagement letter.
SUITABLE FOR: Governance reviews, multi-day programmes, sustained consultancy
HOURLY RATE
Available for matters where the scope cannot be fixed at the outset. A time estimate and reporting structure will be agreed at the point of instruction.
SUITABLE FOR: Complex advisory work, ongoing tribunal support
